This new full length disc offers 12 tracks of folk/rock ,country stomp, and Americana inspired blues, featuring the soulful vocals of PATTY ROBBINS. Spies Of Life spent over two years in recording studios with noted engineer DON MCKINZIE and BUMPY SILVER, producer, fine tuning and developing each track. "We threw away the recording techniques handbook" stated Silver, often recording basic tracks with just a bare bones tempo, and one or two instruments as a minimal sketch pad....only to develop these songs with the question...what if ? Robbins, especially, contributed to the process by re-writing and editing song lyrics, sometimes immediately before and even during the actual lead and backing vocal sessions! SPIESOFLIFE founding members LOU SIMMONS, MIKE HOWELL, and JOHN TYLER contributed a myriad of vocal,keyboard, bass, and stringed instrument colors that support and enhance Patty's Vocals....Acoustic and electric pianos, Hammond Organ, acoustic and electric basses, 6 and 12 string acoustic, electric guitars, various lap steel slide guitars, bouzouki,and even mantar, a rare combination mandolin/guitar hybrid. #5/GREG LATHROP, SOL band Member since 1996, and noted Atlanta area studio musician, acted as HORN SECTION and Instrumental hired gun with his large collection of Harmonicas, and quick-study ability to immediately add melodies, stabs, and depth to the tunes. Greg also is credited with contributing an original song to the project. SPIES OF LIFE members LARRY STRONG and JIMMY TYLER bring big rhythm, and screamin' electric guitars to the project.
